Thursday marked our three-week anniversary of this campaign. We finished at 1207 likes, which is incredible for an itty-bitty page that doesn't have any huge connections.
I'm a little overwhelmed at the amount of support we are receiving, largely from complete strangers. For such a silly request, the love we're being shown is amazing. While I'm being cautious not to get my hopes up too high, I am definitely hoping that at least something will come of this.
We shared our link on the SyFy Facebook page in the hopes that if we keep sharing it, they'll jump on board. At the very least, there are more people hopping over to our page because of it, and increased traffic definitely means increased likes.
I have decided I'm going to paint a miniature Stargate for our Buck and Doe, and we'll set up a donation box underneath it. We'll keep that money aside in case plan A fails, and we need to move to plan B, which would be building one ourselves.
This afternoon, Scott and I filmed a video introducing ourselves, since we did promise to make one once we hit 1000 likes. The next video will be at 1500 likes, and will hopefully be a bit more interesting.
But until then, here's the video!

A few cool ideas..
So, over the course of the last week and a half, some of you have been sharing your Stargate finds with us as far as wedding ideas, and some of them are pretty neat! Here are just a few of them.

Week One: Not a bad start
We're officially one week in to our little campaign and are currently standing at 425 Facebook likes and 27 Twitter followers. While we would have loved to see at least 1000 on FB and 100 on Twitter, we are still pretty impressed with the progress. Especially since the majority of the people joined up so far aren't even people we know!
I'll admit, I was quite skeptical when this all started. I still am not sure that it's going to work, but I didn't think there was going to be this much support... I mean heck, we've got more supporters than my author page does and that's been around for two years! So yeah, we're more than a little thrilled right now.
We are moving our wedding back one month now, as our church will be undergoing renovations, but we're looking at the positive parts of moving it -- we get another month to save up for things, and of course another month of campaigning for our Stargate!
Now that all the weddings we're involved in are done, it means we can start actually planning our wedding. I'm excited, but also completely nervous! There is so much to do and figure out.
For now, we hope that you'll join our cause, and hopefully follow the blog. We'd love to have feedback from you, or just send us wedding tips and suggestions! :) Hop on over to any of the tabs to find out more on how to help, contact us and all that jazz!
Until the next post!
