The Back Story

Everyone knows that when geeks come together in a relationship, there are certain geeky things they find they have in common. Video games, tv shows, anime series, etc. For these two, amongst other things, it was their love of Stargate that stood out the most.

For about six years now, it was Tabi's dream to have a Stargate at her wedding. While part of that dream was to have it instead of the typical archway used to beautify a ceremony, having it at the reception was an idea that really rocked her socks.

Once wedding talk started and the proposal happened, Tabi shyly brought forward a few of her geeky ideas for the wedding to Scott, and Scott jumped behind them. After all, how awesome would it be to have a Stargate at a wedding? Almost as cool as having the Death Star, The Starship Enterprise or a Jedi Stealth fighter at a wedding. Or at least, so they thought.

There was only one problem. Finding the time/finances/facilities to build one would be difficult. And thusly, it remained only a dream. But then, as they shared that dream with friends, several suggested creating a Facebook page and trying to get it to go viral, in the hopes that, with enough likes, MGM would take notice and be able to help them out somehow.

Finally, the Help Us Get a Stargate at Our Wedding campaign was born. They both know of course that this is a total longshot, but realized that even if it didn't work, it would be worth taking that chance. After all, at the very least, they would have a blast doing it, and maybe make a few new friends along the way.

If you're interested in helping, you can like their Facebook page (linked above) or check out the How To Help tab for other ways.
